Born in 2021 inside the Abbey of St. Paul of Argon Fileo - The Library of Interculture - Fulvio Manara.
Inside can be found more than 6,000 volumes that allow in-depth study of the themes of human mobility, interculture and dialogue between faiths and denominations.
The collection is made up of the donation of Prof. Fulvio Manara's entire personal library, the entire holdings of the Integration Agency, the section of texts on interculturalism donated by the CELIM of Bergamo, and the volumes present in the various diocesan offices that collaborate on the Fileo project.
The ambition is to become a privileged reference point for the study of these issues in the Bergamo area.
To encourage the circulation of its holdings, the library is associated with the Bergamo Library Network in which it appears as a special library. For this reason its volumes can be requested in all the libraries of the Bergamo circuit, but also by interlibrary loan with the Brescian system and also from the entire national territory.
Fulvio Manara
The library's richest collection is composed of texts that belonged to Professor Fulvio Manara, a professor of Human Rights Pedagogy and Social Pedagogy at the University of Bergamo who passed away in 2016 and was donated by his family.
He has long been involved in nonviolent conflict transformation and education in thinking. During his original research activity within the Bergamo Athenaeum, he promoted and coordinated Research Community practices, inspired by the work of Raimón Panikkar and dedicated to the study of the works of some prophetic figures of nonviolence, philosophical thought and spirituality of the 20th century: Gandhi, Etty Hillesum, Lorenzo Milani, Simone Weil, Paulo Freire, Lanza Del Vasto. He devoted himself passionately to philosophy with children, and developed a singular approach. Around these experiences and with the network of educators and teachers trained at P4C Manara gave birth in 2015 to the Social Promotion Association CdRF - Community of Philosophical Research (www.cdrf.it). He has been a member of the editorial board of the Italian Philosophical Society's journal "Philosophical Communication," the Journal of Political Pedagogy "Democratic Education," and a contributor to the journal "Nonviolent Action."

In-depth consultations (theses, research, bibliography) on Fileo's own topics are also offered by emailing ricerca@fileo.it
The library also offers 4 free study stations with internet access to those over 18 years of age from Mon to Fri from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
To gain access, you must reserve the station for a maximum of one week by emailing biblioteca@fileo.it
Reservation is renewable if seats are available.
